Ratio Estimation and Approximate Optimum Stratification in Electric Poher Surveys

چکیده
= Some of the history of a monthly sales and revenue survey, and the current status of that survey and others, are given as background to changes now being implemented. Sampling will now take place at the State level, instead of the national level; more complete use will be made of auxiliary information; work has been done to control cv's for several variables simultaneously; and a test originally designed to consider degrees of homogeneity between several similar populations with limited sampling, has been used to investigate the effectiveness of this design at an aggregated (Census division) level. I. INTRODUCTION= A relatively small number of utilities sell most of the retail electricity in the United States. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) Form EIA-826, "Monthly Electric Utility Sales and Revenue Report Nith State Distributions," collects data from these large utilities and a stratified random sample of the smaller utilities. The universe is from another survey, begun in Ig8q, which is a census, performed on an annual basis. Until 1986, the predecessors to Form EIA-826 gathered data from only a select group of large privately owned utilities. Stratified random sampling has been used with good results since that time. A "certainty" stratum has been used to let the largest utilities represent only themselves, and this design

“Equivalent Linear Composition” as an Efficient Stratification Factor in Multipurpose Surveys
Horticulture survey is a multi-purpose survey which is conducted ad hoc by Statistical Center of Iran (SCI). Availability of survey variables in the sampling frame suggests a multivariate stratification in each province based on its desired variables for acquiring a higher efficiency. There are several ways to stratify the sampling frame considering all stratification variables, such as using s...
متن کاملDASTWAR: a tool for completeness estimation in magnitude-size plane
Today, great observatories around the world, devote a substantial amount of observing time to sky surveys. The resulted images are inputs of source finder modules. These modules search for the target objects and provide us with source catalogues. We sought to quantify the ability of detection tools in recovering faint galaxies regularly encountered in deep surveys. Our approach was based on com...
متن کاملEffect of Measurement Errors on a Class of Estimators of Population Mean Using Auxiliary Information in Sample Surveys
We consider the problem of estimation the population mean of the study variate Y in presence of measurement errors when information on an auxiliary character X is known. A class of estimators for population means using information on an auxiliary variate X is defined. Expressions for its asymptotic bias and mean square error are obtained. Optimum conditions are obtained for which the mean...
متن کاملEstimation of Water Demand of Agriculture Sector by Water-Yield Function (Case Study: Sistan Province)
In this study, yield-water and profit function was used to obtain water demand function in agriculture sector. The results showed that the ratio of actual to potential Evapotranspiration had positive, significant effecton the ratio of actual to potential yield for wheat and barley. Also, square ratio of actual to potential Evapotranspiration had negative, significant relationship. After estimat...
متن کاملThe Effect of Gibberellic Acid and Stratification on Germination of Alstroemeria (Alstroemeria ligtu hybrid) Seed In Vitro and In Vivo Conditions
The dormancy characteristics and optimum conditions for seed germination of Alstroemeria ligtu had not been explained. In vitro and in vivo alstroemeria (A. ligtu hybrid) seed germination tests were conducted in a Randomized Completely Design at two different treatments (gibberellic acid (GA3) 0, 100, 200 and 400 mg/l with and without stratification in 5±1oC) in four replications. Seeds were pl...
